New Round of Strategy Support Programme

Applications have now closed for the next round of the Heritage Compass Strategy Support Programme.

Running from September 2024 to February 2025, 10 organisations will join us for a series of workshops to develop their skills and be supported in creating their own Fundraising Strategy. Support will include:

  • Development of a fundraising strategy, including organisational analysis
  • Benchmarking
  • Recommendations for messaging and resourcing
  • A light-touch fundraising plan

This opportunity is open to former Heritage Compass participants and provides tailored, expert-led mentorship and practical support, with all organisations gaining a tangible outcome upon completion.

Over the course of three online workshops with your cohort lead, you will establish a robust framework to begin building your Fundraising Strategy, which you will then continue to develop internally within your organisation.

Your cohort lead will be on-hand throughout, providing direct feedback on your strategic document, guiding you as you develop your plan, and supporting you and your organisation to achieve success.

FAQs

Why are you offering free consultancy support for Heritage Compass participants?

This support is part of Heritage Compass Legacy funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and is a part of our mission to grow resilience and invigorate the heritage sector across England. Whilst we would love to support all organisations, we do not have the funds to do so, and are therefore running an open application process to ensure fairness for all participants.

Can I just have the money and use my own consultant?

We’re afraid not. We have an expert team of consultants and partners ready to support your organisation.

What will the support look like?

The programme offers three 2 hour sessions with your cohort lead, to support you in establishing and developing the framework for your strategy. Between these sessions you will work in your organisation to develop this and will be able to receive feedback and input from your cohort lead.

What are your criteria for awarding support through this programme?

We will award organisations based on your ability to tell us what support is needed and why; how it will benefit the organisation and your communities, and why the organisation should be selected and how you will maximise the opportunity.
