Tribe’s story started in 2013 when a cohort of black and Asian actors were cast together in a local play. The coming-together proved fateful. Their frustration with the negative portrayal and misrepresentation of their stories on stage culminated in Tribe Arts being born. Now spearheaded by Co-Artistic Directors’ Tajpal Rathore & Samran Rathore, Tribe Arts continues to create work which responds to current trends and political conversations, contributing to contemporary British black and Asian theatre, and the cultural life of the UK.
