The Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre

The Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre (LOIHC) provides a focal point for heritage and landscape discovery of the Land of Oak & Iron (LOI); a post-industrial landscape with an abundance of woodland, rare/iconic wildlife and hidden historical treasures, hosting world-leading iron and steel industries from 1690-1980s. LOI was established by Groundwork, a charity with a vision to mobilise practical community action on poverty and the environment. LOIHC provides information, exhibitions, rich and diverse interpretation, annual programme of events, workshops, education, café and shop.

“LOI has a mission to celebrate, educate and bring to life 500years of heritage/history/heroes/habitats.”
