Shape Arts is a disability-led arts organisation which works to improve access to culture for disabled people by providing opportunities for disabled artists, training cultural institutions to be more open to disabled people, and through running participatory arts and development programmes. Shape aims to work with arts, heritage and cultural sector organisations towards promoting greater accessibility and inclusion – opening talent and audience pathways. The photo above is of the late Adam Reynolds – photograph by David Hevey.

“We raise the aspirations of disabled people wanting to work and lead in the heritage, arts cultural sectors, providing high quality content and projects, accessible learning and development opportunities to support their careers. Although sadly no longer with us, Adam was a leading light in the Disability Arts Movement and his influence, work and sense of humour still has impact today. The picture [above] was taken by David Hevey as one of a series showing Disabled creatives. In case you can’t read it, his ‘begging board’ says, ‘Andicapped Adam says thank you.’”
