Salford Heritage Services consists of two sites: Salford Museum and Art Gallery and Ordsall Hall. The buildings and grounds of these two museums are owned by Salford City Council. On a day to day basis, they are managed by Salford Community Leisure (SCL) – a community benefit society with charitable status. SCL manages 60 venues throughout the city of Salford. As well as the 2 museums, these include all the libraries, community centres and sports centres. SCL is committed to enhancing the physical and cultural wellbeing of the local community through the sport, library and cultural opportunities it offers.

“Our mission is to: – Provide engaging public spaces for the education and enjoyment of the people of Salford and the wider community; Inspire people and provide an enriching cultural experience; Act as the custodians of Salford’s heritage collections so that they can be used for display, engagement and research.”
