ICON (Institute of Conservation)

Icon is a professional body with 2,500 members, representing and supporting the practice and profession of conservation (in relation to objects, collections, buildings, and structures). Many members play key roles in national cultural heritage institutions while others work in regional and local museums and galleries or in private practice. All have responsibility for caring for collections of the highest levels of cultural significance. Icon represents the interests of conservation and conservators to policymakers, and works energetically to demonstrate that conservation of collections has a role in delivering Government policy agenda in areas such as levelling-up, soft power, diversity, and wellbeing.
