Harlow Art Trust

June walkers with Upright Motive No

Harlow Art Trust has been commissioning, acquiring and promoting sculpture for Harlow New Town, Essex, since 1953. The collection now numbers over 101 public artworks. In the autumn of 2019 HAT was supported with Arts Council funding to develop a business plan. HAT’s vision is “a significant urban sculpture park developed with and for the community, instilling a sense of pride and identity.”  The plan sets out five principal strategic aims to work towards to achieve this: To grow, develop and promote the sculpture collection; to conserve and maintain the sculptures; to develop interest in the local area on a number of levels; to collaborate with local, regional and national partners to develop Harlow ‘the place’; and to nurture and present new opportunities to flourish.

“Our mission is to enrich and inspire Harlow by enabling access, stimulating interest and encouraging appreciation of art and the collections.”
