Caring for God’s Acre

Caring for God’s Acre is a secular conservation charity for the care and protection of burial grounds, working with communities across England and Wales to empower people to appreciate, celebrate and manage these special places for people, wildlife and heritage. There are approximately 20,000 burial grounds, ranging from small, rural medieval churchyards to large Victorian city cemeteries, spanning different cultures, religions and centuries.

“Caring for God’s Acre offers support to the estimated 150,000 volunteers who look after burial grounds in England and Wales, keeping them beautiful, accessible and managed in a way which attracts wildlife.”
